Difference b/w a Master’s Thesis  and a PhD Thesis

In academia, a master’s thesis is an undergraduate academic research paper usually completed at the end of an academic year. A master’s thesis as a requirement for an MA program takes approximately 6-9 months from beginning to end. At the same time, a PhD thesis is a much more extensive work which draws together different threads of knowledge acquired in a number of courses and independent reading and writing into a bigger picture. A PhD thesis is a formal document that argues in defense of a particular thesis. It must be written in a certain format and contain a certain number of words or pages.
