India has been able to produce a number of PhD candidates in the recent past. But it is unfortunate that most of these achievements have been achieved at the cost of quality research and academic work. Indian universities are notorious for producing low quality PhDs, sometimes with no research work at all, which leads to poor employability and productivity.
