If you’re applying for an engineering degree, you prepare for the GATE exam – Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
GATE, a national level exam which is organized to get admission in IITs, IISERs, IISc, and other reputed institutes of India for M.Tech/M.E./Ph.D. courses. GATE is orchestrated by the IITs and IISc on a rotational basis.
*There are no minimum percentage criteria in the qualifying degree to apply for the GATE exam*.
Educational Qualification: Eligibility Criteria to appear for GATE Ph.D. –
- Candidates having a master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final year of such programs
- Four-year Integrated Master’s degree (Post B.Sc.) holders in Engineering/Technology and for those who are in the second or higher year of such programs
- Five-year Integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree holders in Engineering/Technology and also those who are in the fourth or higher year of such programs.
- Holders of Five-year integrated M.Sc. or Five-year integrated B.Sc. /M.Sc. degree and those who are in the final year of such programs.
Note: Candidates who are appearing in the final year of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply.
