A good biography has two parts: the first is about the subject’s life, and the second is about how their life influenced the world around them. For example, if you’re writing about someone who was a general in the Revolutionary War, you might start with their birth and end with their death. If you’re writing about someone who lived during slavery in America, then you would start with when they were born into slavery and end with their death while they were still enslaved. The idea is that every piece of information should add to your understanding of what made this person great or important in any way possible.
