There are 2 main methods to enter into a PhD Admission:
- If you are a NET/JRF qualified candidate, then you shall be exempted from the entrance test and you will have to directly appear for the interview in the subject of your choice in which you wish to do Ph.D. (This exemption is subjected to the institutes’ policies. There are some universities that conduct their own entrance tests for admission into Ph.D. despite NET JRF qualification. Therefore, you have to check before applying to any institute.)
- If you don’t possess NET, then you need to clear the Institute-Specific entrance test and then move to the interview stage as mentioned above. A brief idea of the subject and the possession of an adequate synopsis in this regard is an added advantage and improves your chances of qualifying for a Ph.D. If you qualify for the interview, you will be selected and the process is complete.
Best of Luck!!
